What is going green with your audio video system?

There are several ways you can save
money and the environment with systems
you place in your home or business.

What is “Phantom Power”?

The average Home Theater system pulls about 4 amps of power while running.  Most likely your system is wired to a 20 or 15 amp breaker. A 20 amp breaker is equal to 2400 watts, which 4 amps would be about 480 watts. Phantom power is electricity your system is using while not turned on.  We will commonly install units that protect, manage and filter the incoming power to your valuable electronics. One more advantage to these units is the ability to power down components of your system when not in use. In an average Home Theater system this could add hundreds of dollars in savings by the end of the year.

What are “Lighting Control Systems”?

Lighting Control Systems are playing into the world of going green in a big way. The majority of the power used in your business or home is from the use of lighting. By programming scenes and dimming into your lighting systems you can save money and the environment.

What are “Green Products”

Green Products are becoming even more common in the electronic market. Most TVs now come standard with power saving options. Many Companies are now trying to be more eco friendlily in their approach to manufacturing products. Even much of the cable used in AV systems now have standards to make it more environment friendly.
