What is “Phantom Power”?
The average Home Theater system pulls about 4 amps of power while running. Most likely your system is wired to a 20 or 15 amp breaker. A 20 amp breaker is equal to 2400 watts, which 4 amps would be about 480 watts. Phantom power is electricity your system is using while not turned on. We will commonly install units that protect, manage and filter the incoming power to your valuable electronics. One more advantage to these units is the ability to power down components of your system when not in use. In an average Home Theater system this could add hundreds of dollars in savings by the end of the year. |
